In most situations, I like hero powering from turn 1 to get a big minion fast. Sometimes you can buy minion on 1, level on 2 and start hero powering on turn 3, depending on the lobby.

You wanna start Heropowering turn 1 until you find either great passive scaling, great tempo or both. Because if you did not you can't overcome the disadvantage you gained by heropowering. Often this means that there are no 4 drops that are really worth it. There are some 5 drops that can work such as lightfang but generally you wanna be going for premium 6 drops. Oftentimes you are specifically aiming for [[Atrocitie]] or [[Whirling Lass-o-matic]]
